Raz-Kids and IXL (math and language arts) are two of the programs we have used this year to help reinforce our learning. Your child will have access to both online programs over the summer. Raz-Kids and IXL is a fun way for your child to keep their learning fresh.
HOW DOES MY CHILD FIND IXL SKILLS TO WORK ON?
- Sign in to your child’s account at www.ixl.com
- You will be taken to the Recommendations Wall. These skills are personalized based on your child’s practice history and your child’s current needs.
- Have your child explore these recommendations and choose skills that are interesting to them.
SUMMER READING
I believe summer reading is critical for every student at every grade level! It is important that your child continue to practice the comprehension and reading strategies that they’ve learned throughout first grade. Your child can sign into https://www.raz-kids.com/ or read a book in a quiet environment for at least thirty minutes. Reading above the recommended goal is always encouraged.
WHEN WILL the SUMMER ABOVE AND BEYOND PACKETS BE READY?
The Summer Above and Beyond Packets are READY NOW! The link was emailed to each Beluga Whale parent on 5/31. Differentiated IXL lessons will ready by June 10th. Completed Summer Above and Beyond activities, IXL or Raz-Kids are not assignments so there is no need to email completed lessons assignments back to me.
DOES MY CHILD KNOW THE USERNAME AND PASSWORD for IXL and Raz-Kids?
Yes, each child has access to his/her IXL and Raz-Kids username and password. This information will be found on the front of your child’s portfolio folder. Look for the purple paper (your child can’t miss it). There is a possibility that you will need to assist your child with signing onto the programs for the first time since they will be on a different device.
